OK, I'm still going over in my head the happenings of this week's episode and I'm confused on a point (or two).

We've known for quite a while that there is a huge fight going on between Ben and Widmore. This season we learned that Widmore was actually an "Other" for quite a while until he got the boot. So, when it comes down to it, Ben and Widmore are both "Others" who are fighting among one another.

Then we have this whole "What lies in the Shadow of the Statue" group who are obviously anti-Widmore, and seem to not be a part of Ben's clan. After getting a bit more info about them this week, I decided that perhaps these "Shadow" people could quite possibly be remaining Dharma peeps who either escaped the purge and/or were off-island during it.

I'm trying to find information on the beginnings of Dharma since someone on Buzz mentioned that a schism occurred between the Others and half went to Dharma half stayed put. I couldn't remember this so, naturally, I turned to Lostpedia.

According to their timeline, and Dharma page, I don't see anything about an "Others"-schism.

Do you guys know about a schism? Or is that the researchers/scientists just showed up and took over "Others" land?
Also, do you think perhaps these shadow/statue people could be Dharma leftovers?

I might not be able to start Easter egg hunting until later today, but in the meantime, what did y'all think of last night's episode? I'm starting to get aggrivated that we're able to call things so early on - Eloise is Daniel's mom, etc.

However, the reunion between Jin and Sawyer was adorable. Loved it.

More thoughts? What do you think Eloise is going to say? Do you think John is really dead? (I do, actually.) If you do, how do you think he died?

01/27/2004

Subject left home in yellow Volkswagen Beetle at 8:15 a.m and drove directly to Harvest Restaurant & Grocery, 1112 Van Buren Avenue. I followed suspect through the store as she shopped for food, filling a hand basket. She paid with cash and drove directly home, arriving at 9:27 a.m. Photographs are presented in Attachment A. Attachment A is not available to the public pending legal clearance.

When subject had not passed a visible window for thirty minutes, subject answered the telephone and replied that Lee Chin was in the shower and would return my call in fifteen minutes. I gave subject the number I keep for such occasions but no message was left.

Subject came out of the house at 8:15 am, set up a camping chair next to the mailbox, and proceeded to pace the front yard until the mail truck arrived at 12:32 p.m. Subject grabbed mail from letter carrier and ran into the house. Photographs are presented in Attachment A. Attachment A is not available to the public pending legal clearance.

Subject left home in yellow Volkswagen Beetle at 1:05 p.m. and drove directly to the health club. She stayed inside for fifty minutes. Subject drove directly home, arriving at 2:40 p.m.

Subject left home in yellow Volkswagen Beetle at 3:10 p.m. and drove directly to Sneed's ACE Hardware, 1400 University Avenue, arriving at 3:18 p.m. After she had been inside for thirty minutes, I entered the store and was unable to locate subject. After determining that subject's car was still parked in front, asked the clerk behind the counter if my sister had been in today, describing the subject. Clerk said she had and that she bought three cans of spray paint, one box of rubber gloves, and one tack hammer, paying in cash, before leaving by the rear door. Clerk didn't remember colors of paint purchased. I checked the aisle and discovered fully stocked shelves with empty spaces in the rows containing the colors black, green, and red although I cannot positively confirm that the cans were stocked as indicated. I asked the store clerk if the register captured the part number of items purchased but he said he hadn't scanned the cans of spray paint since he knew the price. I left the store by the rear door and checked the area by foot, but was unable to locate subject.

I returned to the store and again questioned the clerk. Clerk reported that subject used store phonebook to look up number for Oxford City Cab, then remained at counter and used her cell phone to have cab pick her up at Abner's Restaurant, 430 S Lamar, and take her to Animal Clinic of Oxford, 2008 Harris Drive.

Drove various routes to Animal Clinic but did not sight subject. Visited Animal Clinic. Receptionist stated that she had not seen subject. Returned to ACE Hardware to find subject's car gone.

I called client for instructions and was told to establish surveillance at subject's home. The client said she would call me if the subject was sighted at the Yoknapatawpha County Conference Center.

Established surveillance on subject's home. Subject returned home at 1:52 am.

The last light was extinguished at 2:25 am.

01/31/2004

Subject never left 103 Pinecrest Drive.

Client called at 9:10 am to inform me of the previous night's vandalism.

The last light was extinguished at 11:35 p.m.

Surveillance completed.

INVESTIGATION FINDINGS

It is not possible to conclusively determine whether the subject was involved in the vandalism at Yoknapatawpha County Conference Center. Subject did purchase three cans of spray paint, plastic gloves, and a hammer on the day of the vandalism. Subject evaded surveillance for approximately ten hours, during which time the vandalism could have occurred.

....Okay, so what do we think now that we know what it is? Something to throw us off? They HAVE to know that fans are going to investigate every little thing, so I can't imagine them being like, "Just find any old surveillance report and we'll use that. They won't know it isn't about Ben and Jack."

A bizarre-o theory on how LOST could end....

I'm always wondering if there are people out there who have much more time to devote to LOST than I do. Turns out, there are. I found this article on http://pedrowatcher.freedomblogging.com/2009/01/23/want-to-know-how-lost.... It's an interesting theory. Here's an excerpt:

...“There was never a plane crash, and nobody has ever died,” the Spy revealed. “None of the people ever knew each other before they entered [the] office of a psychiatrist who does experimental hypnosis therapy.

“And it’s for people who have lost someone in their lives and they cannot go on any further. Each one of those people lost something or someone valuable in their lives.”

The final episode will show the patients – including some people we thought had died – going to their last therapy session at the psychiatrist’s in Sydney.

So what do we make of this tale from the Anonymous Spy? A troubled insider reaching out? A not-very-elaborate hoax? Deliberate disinformation to throw the Watcher off track?

The producers of “Lost” have repeatedly said that the characters who die on the show really die – yet they also keep coming back to life, so it’s hard to believe the producers on this one.

In the end, it doesn’t matter if the Anonymous Spy’s information is good or not. The Watcher will help, anyway.

Let’s make this clear to the “Lost” brain trust:

There will be no hypnosis therapy. No one will wake up from a dream. The director will not come out from behind a bush and yell “cut!” There will be no autistic boy with a snow globe.

If the “answer” to “Lost” is not contained inside the walls of the show we’ve been watching for the past four years, the Watcher will send his minions in your direction armed with firebrands and pitchforks.

I won’t be responsible for their actions.

1. WHO is Sun following? We paused the eppy to read the surveillance paperwork - it's definitely a woman. The only person I could think of was maybe Eloise - thanks PK - (who was also the lady Desmond purchased Penny's engagement ring from). Part of the papers say that the person "said I was Melissa f***cking with her"....The papers do mention a yellow VW Beetle....anybody have any thoughts on who that could be?

2. The guy who attacked Sayid. At first, my husband was like, "It's Walt!! And he's working for Ben!!!" But who knows. One thing is for certain (we paused it again here to see the address in his wallet) - he's a member of Sam's Club, as evidenced by the card in his wallet. We had a good chuckle when we saw this:

3. Remember how "Ethan Rom" was an anagram for "An Other"? Well, every time I see the name of a company or something on this show, I'm always thinking it's going to be an anagram for something (the funeral parlor where Locke's body was was an anagram for something too, but I forget)...anyway, here's this:

People are speculating that this will have something to do Locke getting "reincarnated" somewhere down the road....

4. Also, the numbers showed up again:

First Jack said that Sayid was knocked out for 42 hours, then we learned Kate's address was 42 Panorama Crest, and then Ben told Jack to meet him a 23rd dock in the marina. SOURCE

5. Oh, and I found THIS which is a summary of the book The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. I figured the writers wouldn't choose a title like this one for no reason!

Someone just commented about this on Buzz and it makes a lot of sense.

The annoying blonde British lady with the gun in 1954 was named Ellie. Daniel said that she looked familiar.

The mysterious British lady who refused to sell Desmond a ring and who told Ben he has 70 hours is named Eloise Hawking.

Most viewers are assuming that Hawking is Faraday's mother (I agree). So Faraday may have been looking at the younger version of his mommy!
